COTABATO CITY (SDN) –– The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) headed by Chief Minister Al-Hajj Murad Ebrahim has not been neglecting the region’s Special Geographic Area (SGA) in North Cotabato.
Comprising the SGA are 63 barangays or villages in six towns of North Cotabato which voted in a January and February 2019 plebiscite to be under the Bangsamoro Government’s jurisdiction. North Cotabato province itself is not part of the Bangsamoro region.
Construction projects being implemented by the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) under the leadership of Minister Naguib G. Sinarimbo are also being implemented in the SGA, including, but not limited to, Barangay Hall Buildings.

Now, the MILG, one of the primary ministries of the BARMM is presently installing solar lights in the SGA villages of Datu Mantil, Kadingilan, Simsiman, and Datu Binasing.
Sinarimbo, also the spokesperson of BARMM, has assured other barangays in the SGA they’ll also be provided solar lighting materials.
Its population per the Philippine Atlas as of 2020 census is 4,404,288 people. It has 116 municipalities: Basilan, 11 municipalities; Lanao del Sur, 39; Maguindanao, 36; Sulu, 19; and Tawi-Tawi, 11. Its component cities are Cotabato (the regional center and capital) in Maguindanao; Lamitan in Basilan; and Marawi in Lanao del Sur. — EKU (/)
