COTABATO CITY, May 24, 2023 – In preparation for BARMMAA Meet 2023 tomorrow, Thursday, the Medical Team convened today, and discussed the health and safety protocols, deployment of medical teams and ambulance cars to the playing venues, templates to be used (flowchart of management of possible cases both in the billeting and in the playing events) for the monitoring of any reported unavoidable circumstances, which may include referral mechanisms, emergency hotline, contingency plan, re: typhoon, and the orientation on the use of hand-held-radios.

The members of the medical team are composed of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE)-Health and Nutrition Unit (HNU), MBHTE Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM), MOH, CHO-HEMS, BFP-EMS, Bangsamoro READi, Cotabato Red Cross, CDRRMO, Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC), CRMC-HEMS, Health Personnel of 11 Schools Division Offices (SDOs) and the Police Regional Office (PRO)-BARMM. They all expressed their full support for the event.
Ms. Gizeel Amera I. Ali, HNU chief, conveyed her message of thanks to the City Government of Cotabato under the leadership of Mayor Bruce Dela Cruz Matabalao for providing 25 units of tents to be used for first aid treatment of athletes that might get hurt during the sporting events. She said that tents will be distributed in the different venues where games are conducted.
“May 10 ambulance tayo na idideploy din sa Cotabato State University and other areas to ensure the safety ng mga bata and easy transport ng bata to the CRMC wherein sila yung end-referral natin ng cases,” Ali said.
For the parade tomorrow, May 25, Ali said that they identified areas on which ambulances will be positioned.

“Kanina din ini-identify din namin during the parade bukas kung saan ang location ng each ambulance, and sa mga succeeding days magdu-duty din sila,” she elaborated.
The number of ambulances, said Ali, are: one from CDRRMO, two from BFP, one from Philippine National Red Cross, two coming from Ministry of Health, one from BARMM READi, two from City Health Office, and others are on call from Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC).
Ali also extended her thanks to MBHTE partners from USAID-Reach-Health for providing the BARMMAA Meet 2023 Medical Team of boxes of facemasks and health kits for the 11 SDOs, medicines from Project TABANG and the MBHTE supply office. (BasicEd ComsTeam) — (/)
