BAGUIO CITY (SDN) — National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF)-North Luzon Regional Director Atty. Raihanah Saran T. Macarimpas-Pacasum has emphasized the importance of the role of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in developing well-trained skilled Filipino workers.
On June 5, 2023, she paid a courtesy call on Atty. Balmyrson M. Valdes, the newly appointed regional director of TESDA-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

During her meeting with Valdes, Macarimpas-Pacasum acknowledged the significance of NCMF-North Luzon and TESDA-CAR’s collaboration and coordination as she explored the possibility for joint initiatives in providing quality services to members of the Muslim communities in the region.
Macarimpas-Pacasum also took the opportunity to discuss her office’s proposal in having a collaborative skills training program in which some Halal specifications will be integrated in their existing training regulations for food preparations.
In response, Valdes offered a pilot batch for a training with all expenses to be shouldered by his office.
The two officials’ meeting concluded with a mutual understanding in discussing more of the said program proposal through another coordination meeting leading towards an agreement.
Present during the meeting are Amin A. Dianalan, Eng’r. Fatimah M. Calbe of NCMF-North Luzon Socio-economic Development Division, Atty. Nor-ainah M. Daragangan of the Legal Division, and Ms. Deloraine T. Bernabe.
The NCMF “is mandated to preserve and develop the culture, tradition, institution, and well-being of Muslim Filipinos, in conformity with the country’s laws and in consonance with national unity and development”.

• Issuance of Certificate of Tribal Membership (CTM)
• Verification of Certificate of Conversion to Islam
• Endorsement for Registration of Mosques/ Cultural Centers, and Muslim
Endorsement for the Creation of Organizations or Associations
• Endorsement for Registration of Madrasah
• Endorsement of Solemnizing Officer for Registration with Philippine
Statistic Authority
• Translation of Arabic Documents or English or Filipino
• Application and Registration for Hajj
TESDA, now headed by a new director general, Secretary Suharto “Teng” T. Mangudadatu, has its Central Office in Taguig City, Metro Manila. TESDA ” is the government agency tasked to manage and supervise technical education and skills development (TESD) in the Philippines, created through Republic Act 7796, otherwise known as the “Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994”.
