MANILA, November 9, 2023 (SDN) — Perhaps, he had it coming for his antics. A rebuke from an unexpected source.

Very likely, the top envoy of Israel to the United Nations, Ambassador Gilad M. Erdan, never in his mind thought that he would be chastised by his own kind after his antics at the world body.

But it sure came, the rebuke, from Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial museum in Tel Aviv, the Zionist state’s capital.

The reason for the rebuke: On Monday, October 30, Erdan spoke before the UN Security Council meeting, hitting the UN and scores of its members for coming up with a General Assembly resolution calling on Israel to put forth an “immediate, durable, and sustained humanitarian truce leading to a cessation of hostilities.”

Erdan was fuming mad that the UN did not condemn the militant Hamas organization for its October 7 blitzkrieg through land, sea, and air that killed over 1,400 Israelis caught up in the unprecedented invasion on its land.

The angry diplomat even slammed UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres for earlier describing the Palestinian group’s onslaught did not come from out of the blue.

In the UN chief’s speech, he cited the importance to “recognize the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum” because the Palestinians have been “subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation.”

Through Israel was “outraged” by his statements, Guterres did not back down, doubling down on his remarks at the same time hitting “misrepresentations” of his words.

Erdan’s “crime” against the memories of the six million Jews killed by Germany’s dictator Adolf Hitler and his Nazis was his and his staff at the UN wearing the “symbolic yellow stars” which Jews were forced to have them in their clothes in World War II.

Willliamson: “Israel worse than Nazis”

The Israeli permanent representative to the UN was furious at the world body for not formally condemning the militant Hamas’ unprecedented blitzkrieg on Israel on October 7 that killed around 1,4oo most civilian Israelis.

The militants’ surprised attacks prompted the Zionist state to declare war on Hamas, which slaughtering thousands of Palestinians, majority of them innocent children and women, through daily bombings and other means.

The chair of Yad Vashem, Dani Dayan, slammed Erdan for his unwelcome antics.

Dayan emphasized his fellow Israelis’ “act (at the UN) disgraces the victims of the Holocaust as well as the state of Israel. The yellow star symbolizes the helplessness of the Jewish people and their being at the mercy of others.”

Erdan was also particularly angry at UN chief for his “did not happen in a vacuum” statement.

Meanwhile, a Chris Williamson, a Labour Party leader of the United Kingdom and a former Member of Parliament (MP) has described the state of Israel as worse than Hitler’s Nazis.

Williamson also said that Gaza “is a concentration camp”, likening the Palestinian enclave to the Nazi concentration camps of Europe where Jews were slaughtered en masse. (/)
