The MBHTE is one of the 15 primary ministries of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

BARMM Chief Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua had earlier declined Iqbal’s courtesy resignations, meaning he was reappointed to his position in the education focused ministry.

Bangsamoro Gov’t Distributes 7 Million Units of Educational Materials to Schools Across BARMM

Meanwhile, the MBHTE has successfully provided a total of 7,066,449 units of learning materials, equipment, and school resources to various schools throughout the region to support the Bangsamoro learners and teachers.

This was made possible through the implementation of the project called Improve Quality of Education in Bangsamoro since 2020.

As of July 10, 2025, the units include 5,436,708 textbooks, 881,664 Islamic Studies and Arabic Language (ISAL) textbooks, 392,985 chairs, 155,232 charts, 121,800 sets of flashcards, 58,820 gallons of alcohol, 9,852 toys, 4,910 computer sets, 1,893 scientific models, 2,582 digital duplicators, and three school buses.

Minister Iqbal reaffirmed the MBHTE’s dedication to making equitable, student-centered, and quality education accessible to the Bangsamoro learners.

“We continue to invest in our learners by providing the resources they need to thrive, wherever they may be in the Bangsamoro. It is part of our commitment to ensure that no Bangsamoro learner is left behind,” Iqbal underscored.

He pointed out that the project reflects the vision of the Ministry to provide and distribute aid and supplies to all school divisions in the autonomous region.

The MBHTE emphasized that these resources are vital in improving the learning environment and promoting literacy, numeracy, and foundational skills in the region’s formal schools and community education centers.

These ongoing efforts reflect the Government of the Day’s 9th priority agenda on improving access to quality and holistic education across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). (Johaira Sahidala/BIO)
