PASAY CITY – The Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP AVSEGROUP), in coordination with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), has arrested an arriving passenger here at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.

The suspect, a 57-year-old Filipino woman from Davao City, was the subject of a warrant of arrest for Estafa under Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Presidential Decree 1689 (Syndicated Estafa).

Her arrest was carried out with the assistance of AVSEGROUP personnel who ensured that the passenger was properly informed of her constitutional rights in accordance with the Miranda Doctrine. An alternative recording device was used during the process to document the arrest.

She is now under the custody of the CIDG for documentation and proper disposition.

“The arrest at NAIA Terminal 3 highlights the strong coordination of PNP-AVSEGROUP with CIDG and our justice system. We remain firm in keeping our airports secure and ensuring that fugitives face the rule of law,” says PNP Brig. Gen. Jay Reyes Cumigad, Director of AVSEGROUP. (/)
