MANILA, November 19, 2025 (SDN) — Palestine Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shahin is meeting today, Thursday, members of the Philippine media at a hotel in Makati City, Metro Manila.
On Tuesday, November 18, Shahin was at the National Day of Palestine and the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in another hotel in the Central Business District (CBD) of Makati.
Earlier, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced the November 16 to 21 visit of the State of Palestine’s highest official to come to the country so far.
The Embassy of Palestine under Ambassador to the Philippines Mounir Y.K. Anastas organized the press briefing about developments in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), particularly in the Gaza Strip where the genocide against the Palestinians being is being committed by Zionist Israel under the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu and other Israeli officials are wanted by the United Nations’ International Court of Justice (ICJ) for alleged war crimes in relation with the over two years genocide where the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), the Israeli military, has already killed over 70,000 Palestinians, majority of them civilians or non-combatants, including at least 17,000 children according to figures of Palestinian health authorities.
The DFA said Shahin is in the country “to undertake a series of engagements.”
Shahin, the DFA, noted “is the highest official of the Palestinian Authority (PA) to visit the Philippines since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries 36 years ago, on 04 September 1989.”
The announcement of the Philippine government on the visit reiterated and maintains its support for the “two-state solution”, saying it’s “the only viable path towards a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the Middle East region.” — EDD K. USMAN (©)
