COTABATO CITY — The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), represented by Acting Deputy Minister Atty. Bantuas M. Lucman, convened an Alignment Meeting with the Office of the Chief Minister (OCM) Strategic Communications Team on Monday, July 13, at the MBHTE Conference Room.

The meeting focused on aligning the Ministry’s communication strategies with the priorities and direction of Interim Chief Minister and Concurrent MBHTE Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua, ensuring consistent, coordinated, and responsive messaging that effectively communicates MBHTE’s programs, initiatives, and accomplishments while addressing public concerns in a timely and accurate manner.

Their discussions also explored ways to strengthen coordination in content development, media engagement, and information dissemination, fostering a more unified and strategic approach to government communications.

MBHTE is one of the 15 primary ministries of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and is the largest in terms of the number of personnel with over 60,000 employees, more than 20,000 of them in the teaching profession.

The engagement reaffirmed the strong partnership between the MBHTE and the OCM Strategic Communications Team, advancing a cohesive communications framework that promotes transparency, enhances public trust, and supports effective, people-centered governance across the Bangsamoro.

Established in 2018 by the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) to implement the 2014 Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB), the Bangsamoro region is made up of the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, and Tawi-Tawi, the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi, and the Special Geographic Area (SGA) with right municipalities.

According to the Philippine Atlas BARMM has 4,404,288 people. It has 116 municipalities: Basilan, 11 municipalities; Lanao del Sur, 39; undivided Maguindanao, 36; Sulu, 19; and Tawi-Tawi, 11.
