MANDALUYONG CITY — On Monday, September 14, 2026, as voters head to the polls for the BARMM Elections 2026, the Philippine Red Cross has fully activated its deployment plan across the region to safeguard voters, communities, and electoral personnel.

To provide immediate medical and humanitarian support during the elections, the PRC has mobilized four core chapters with comprehensive assets and specialized manpower.

Active Chapters & Deployment Breakdown:

  • Basilan Chapter: 18 personnel (4 staff, 14 volunteers) equipped with 1 VERV and 2 service vehicles.
  • Cotabato City Chapter: 13 personnel (8 staff, 5 volunteers) equipped with 1 ambulance.
  • Iligan City Chapter: 12 personnel (1 staff, 11 volunteers) equipped with 1 ambulance and 1 VERV (stationed in Marawi).
  • Tawi-Tawi Chapter: 10 personnel (1 staff, 9 volunteers).

Summary of Deployed Assets: Across the region, the PRC has positioned 2 ambulances, 2 VERVs, 2 service vehicles, 7 First Aid stations, and 6 welfare stations strategically located across chapter offices, barangays, schools/universities, and streets (totaling 53 overall personnel: 14 staff and 39 volunteers).

Regional Standby Support: To ensure rapid reinforcement if needed, additional chapters are on high alert: Sulu Chapter (1 ambulance, 10 manpower), North Cotabato Chapter (1 ambulance, 5 manpower), South Cotabato Chapter (2 ambulances, 10 manpower), and Zamboanga City Chapter (1 ambulance).

“Elections are a crucial exercise of democracy, and every citizen deserves a safe and secure environment to cast their vote. Our Red Cross teams are on high alert and strategically positioned across the region to provide immediate medical assistance and emergency response wherever it is needed,” said PRC Chairman and CEO Richard J. Gordon.

“We call on everyone to exercise their civic duty peacefully, knowing that our dedicated personnel and standby units stand ready to support our communities,” added PRC Secretary-General Dr. Gwendolyn Pang.
