QUEZON CITY — The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) headed by Secretary Sabuddin N. Abdurahim joined the nationwide observance of the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2026 through its participation in the “Blue Day Thursday” activity.
Officials and personnel of the Commission wore blue as a gesture of solidarity with the nationwide campaign, which seeks to strengthen public awareness and appreciation of the Philippines as an archipelagic and maritime nation. The activity also served as a simple yet meaningful expression of support for the protection, preservation, and responsible stewardship of the country’s maritime and archipelagic resources.
The participation of the NCMF community, including students undergoing on-the-job training (OJT) and internship programs, helped amplify the message of MANA Mo 2026 and encouraged greater awareness of the importance of the country’s seas and maritime resources. Their enthusiastic participation reflected a shared commitment to promoting environmental responsibility and appreciation of the Philippines’ maritime heritage.
With the theme, “Karapatan sa Karagatan, Sama-sama Nating Alagaan,” MANA Mo 2026 calls on Filipinos to recognize the significance of the country’s maritime domain and to work collectively toward its protection and sustainable use. Through initiatives such as Blue Day Thursday, the NCMF joins other government institutions and stakeholders in fostering a stronger sense of responsibility for the country’s seas and archipelagic resources.
