Filipino Professor in US Seeks Help for Late Nephew in Dubai

Dubai, Filipino professor, Covid-19, pandemic, UAE, nephew

(SDN) — PROF. GILBERT BOLANOS, a Filipino-American educator in the United States, is seeking help for his late nephew in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In an appeal he issued on his Facebook page, May 4, Monday, Manila time, he said his nephew, engineer Rey Imperial, succumbed to the novel coronavirus in Dubai, UAE.

His nephew passed away only two days after he was taken to a hospital.

Here is his plea for assistance:

“Dear friends:

“Please help if you can. Do you know anyone in the Philippine Consulate in Dubai who can help? Or the Department of Foreign Affairs?

“My nephew, R.I., died of Covid-19 in Dubai a few days ago. He was working there as an engineer. He died after two days only in the hospital.

“Initially his immediate family was told his remains would be cremated along with other Covid-19 victims. But his widow/wife begged that he be cremated separately.

“WE NEED HELP IN FACILITATING THE RELEASE AND TRANSPORT OF HIS ASHES BACK TO MANILA.

“This is a tragic and truly heartbreaking way to die. And to lose a loved one. No goodbyes!!!

“If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you so much! Take care and God bless all of us!” 🖤🙏😷🥊💪

Prof. Gilbert Bolanos is an alumnus of the University of Sto. Tomas (UST). (SDN)
