MANDALUYONG CITY — Creativity and advocacy go hand in hand when it comes to heart health.
And the Philippine Heart Association (PHA) Baguio-Benguet Chapter proved that when it garnered a double win as First Prize winner and 2nd Audience Choice award for the prizes of ₱20,000 and P10,000, respectively, in the 2025 PHA Puso Muna TikTok Challenge.
The video challenge was held in celebration of the Heart Month in February 2025. Dedicated cardiologists from PHA chapters across the country – from Luzon, Visayas , and Mindanao – sent in their Tiktok videos giving life to the PHA PUSO MUNA advocacy.
Baguio-Benguet Chapter wowed PHA Central Chapter with their powerful message and creative execution for the win.
Second Prize, given ₱15,000, is awarded to a team that perfectly captured the spirit of Puso Muna — Cebu Chapter, while the third Prize of ₱10,000 went to the always vibrant and creative Zamboanga Peninsula Chapter.
Meanwhile, entries that captured the hearts of viewers nationwide were hailed with the Audience Choice Awards. The first Audience Choice award , with the most views, likes, and shares –Southern Tagalog Chapter — won ₱15,000, followed by Baguio-Benguet Chapter and the Cebu Chapter as 3rd Audience Choice winning ₱5,000.
Meanwhile, a consolation Prize of P5,000 each were given to the following: Western Visayas-Panay, Northwestern Mindanao, Western Visayas-Negros Occidental, Central Luzon, and Southern Tagalog.
The winners were awarded on May 27 immediately after the Advocacy Hour featuring health advocate and versatile actress Cherry Pie Picache.
“Your dedication, passion, and energy were truly heartwarming—and you all inspire us to keep pushing for a healthier Philippines,” said Dr. Luigi during the awarding ceremony
“Indeed, every step — no matter how small — matters when it comes to protecting our hearts,” master of ceremony Dr. Louella Santos, concluded.
The PHA announced the winners during the PHA-Philippine College of Cardiology (PCC) 55th Annual Convention and Scientific Meeting, with the theme revolving around “Preventive & Promotive Cardiology Advocacy Hour Usapang PUSO sa PUSO: From a Programmatic to a Policy Analysis”. — Gynna P.
