COTABATO CITY — The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) has distributed various school supplies and materials to Fukol Learning Center, Talayan, Maguindanao del Sur.
Included in the supplies are 80 MBHTE-designed armchairs, 90 sets of Learners’ Kits, four sets of manipulative toys, 15 sets of flashcards, 15 sets of educational charts, and one box of McDonald’s toys.
This initiative is part of the Ministry’s Project Improve Quality Education in the Bangsamoro Land (Project IQBAL).
Headed by Education Minister Mohagher M. Iqbal, the MBHTE is one of the primary ministries of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Meanwhile, the Ministry’s Education Facilities Section conducted two groundbreaking ceremonies for the construction of school facilities worth a total of Php6,892,332.13 in the divisions of Special Geographic Area (SGA), which is located in North Cotabato but under the jurisdiction of the Bangsamoro government, and Maguindanao del Norte.
To be subsidized under the 2023 Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) is a covered stage project, which will be constructed in Barangay Takepan, Pikit.
Additionally, another covered court funded under the 2020 Special Development Fund (SDF) will be also constructed at Ma’had Imamud Da’wah, Barangay Banubo, Sultan Kudarat.
The Bangsamoro region, established in 2018 by the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) to implement the 2014 Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB), is made up of the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi, as well as the Special Geographic Area’s (SGA) 63 barangays or villages that voted “Yes” in a plebiscite in February 2019 to be under the BARMM jurisdiction.
According to the Philippine Atlas BARMM has 4,404,288 people. It has 116 municipalities: Basilan, 11 municipalities; Lanao del Sur, 39; undivided Maguindanao, 36; Sulu, 19; and Tawi-Tawi, 11. Its component cities are Cotabato (the regional center and capital) in Maguindanao; Lamitan in Basilan; and Marawi in Lanao del Sur. (✓)
